Romney Marsh at Plumpton, ignores a heavily disguised Roy Keane in the crowd.
Mar08: She is another that has been suffering from the delayed action post-race stiffness. The treatment should help, but Romney Marsh is also due to have some intensive schooling before she runs again. Basically, she is a sound jumper, but every now and then she gets one horribly wrong, usually without warning, and the mistakes are proving expensive.
Apr07: Made her chase debut in a handicap at Towcester at the end of March, winning in quite amazing style, by being well out of contention in the middle of the far side, effortlessly cruising into, through and beyond the pack at the side of the course and sweeping past the leader before the final fence. Glorious stuff but not perhaps ideal for those with a dodgy ticker. The follow up run at Worcester was tougher as there was no hill and she was left with top weight. Romney Marsh eventually took a tumble two out, but she seemed to suffer no harm done as a result.
Jan07: Needed her last run at Taunton but ran satisfactorily over a trip that will probably turn out to be a touch on the sharp side and will now switch to handicaps.

Oct06: Due to being a bit stiff in late Spring, as a consequence of the pelvic injury, Romney Marsh started her summer break earlier than planned, and therefore was back in slightly ahead of the rest as well. She has taken some work to get fit and is another we expect to reappear in late October. It will be very disappointing if she cannot get off the mark this season, and the regularity with which Andrew Tinkler has suggested that he is keen to keep the ride suggests that he is of the same opinion.
May06: Rather ruined her comeback run, and hurdling bow, but trying to go as fast as possible for as long as possible ( a mile and a half or so) but she should know more about the task and be easier to settle with the fizz run out of her on that occasion.
Mar06: we took a chance on the terrible ground at Fontwell, thinking that Romney Marsh would appropriately handle it better than most, and she was running a big race until weakening quickly from three furlongs out. It emerged that she had displaced a pelvis and is on the easy list for a couple more weeks, having had the chiropractor at work on it.
Jan06: A much improved show at Plumpton, where she led into the home straight until inexperience took hold, followed by a decent run at Southwell, when she did not appreciate the tactics employed show that she is going the right way. Having only been broken in last September, she is still learning the way of the world

Dec05: Her debut bumper run was disappointing, but she became rather over-excited in the preliminaries (photo above taken at a distance with telephoto lens) and was bemused by churned up, gluepot ground which she had never encountered at home. Perhaps Romney Marsh is not the most suitable of names?

Oct05: The second daughter we have from the former stable star Mirador, who won over flat and jumps and was a length runner-up in the Ascot Stakes at Royal Ascot. Glacial Storm's biggest wins came in the Horris Hill Stakes (Gr. 3) at Newbury and Longchamp's Prix de Barbeville (Gr. 3). He was runner-up in The Derby (Gr. 1), the Jockey Club Stakes (Gr. 2), September Stakes (Gr. 3) and Classic Trial (Gr. 3). He made the frame on several other occasions, including the Irish Derby (Gr. 1) and Dante Stakes (Gr. 2). Offspring of Glacial Storm have won over 400 races, flat, hurdling and chasing, with prize money of nearly £3½ million pounds.

Romney Marsh, after making her hurdling debut at Plumpton, decides that whilst it was not the worst thing that she has ever come across, breakfast and dinner still have the edge in enjoyment
