Feb10: Ran another great race, at Hereford, leading four out and then fighting back once headed to only go down by a head. Unfortunately, he is creeping up the handicap all the time as a result of good jumping and a battling attitude.

Jan10: Gained his first chase success at Folkestone over two miles - travelled well, jumped excellently, job done. Slightly worrying that he was due for a big jump up the ratings, but the handicapper did allow for the fact that his most likely rivals probably ran below par.

Dec09: A new arrival, he was fit and ready to run when he came, and began and was a decent fifth on debut. He had been chasing of late, but previously won a hurdle at Down Royal and a flat race Ballinrobe. Mark Grant has ridden him before and reports that Rince Donn is a hard horse to fathom, sometimes running like a two miler, on others like he needs further. That latter thought nearly paid off, as he was beaten a short head in a two and a half mile handicap chase at Ffos Las. Annoying to go down on the nod by the former minimum margin, but the performance gave us a better guide as to our future options with him.

Before his Folkestone win, Rince Donn checks that the crowd measure up to his high standards, and after the race, as Declan tries to teach magnanimity in victory, Rince Donn makes a statement to the world at large, apparently because they failed to show him the due respect. An audio voice over will be added to the picture as soon as Ray Winstone is available. But if we get that actor for Rince Donn, we will have to get Gabriel Byrne to do Declan, and suddenly you can see why "Avatar" cost so much to make. The video of this race is, however, a better film than "Avatar."
