Dec11: Is the sort to go well fresh, so going all the way to Catterick for his comeback run had a chance of a nice return. The result was respectable, ending up second, but could have gone one better had Quam Cellerrime been a bit more dynamic throughout the race. He hit a bad flat spot on the far side, and Hadden gave him a couple of reminders to try and sort it out. Under the new whip rules, he was mindful of saving a couple for the run-in, which seemed to assure Quam Cellerrime that there was no need for urgency at this stage. But there was. For the level he competes at, he is not short of a finishing dash, so in future the focus of the tactics will be to prevent him repeating the mid-race slump.
Feb11: Failed to make the frame in a perfect race at Folkestone in January, which was initially a headscratcher, but the osteopath came in to give him a service and found one his his vertebra was displaced. This has been rectified and Quam Cellerime seems right as rain since, so hopefully he will be enjoying a splash around somewhere imminently.
Dec10: Picked up a close second place at Uttoxeter on ground that was also heavy, but holding rather than sloshy, which did not really suit. He remains in good form, and despite being up a lot in the weights, if the going comes right, he could defy that problem.
Oct10: WON! AS PREDICTED! WHEN IT WAS VERY TESTING! He demolished the oppo in a race at Uttoxeter, with Hadden very complimentary about Quam's capacity to quicken in very holding ground. Because of a huge rise in the handicap, we followed up on quicker ground and he could not quite cope. The rain will return.
Jan10: A winner of a soft ground 7 furling race as a two year old, he has had a long spell off, and needed the run when making his hurdles debt (originally the time and place was chosen as convenient for Hugh, who was diverted away at the last minute - not exactly great reward for his patience) but Quam Celerrime jumped well enough to think he has a future over hurdles.

Quam Celerrime proves himself very camera friendly at Plumpton.
