In a communication breakdown, Danny Burton seems unduly pleased that his next task is getting on Elegant Olive, and overly concerned when Romney Marsh's turn comes around

Elegant Olive decides there is no need for her not to parade with dignity, despite the shoddy state of the number cloth she has to work with

Under the circumstances, after having had to work her way through the field, Olive (and Danny) are pleased to be less mud caked than might have been expected, although she is wondering why she was forced to start twenty yards behind everyone else.

Romney Marsh gloats over the superior quality of her number cloth, and will certainly give Olive a sartorial lesson or two on the trip home

Rince Donn adopts a very professional approach to being saddled, and is encouraged by a brief count telling him that the opposition is not too numerous. For future reference, this is his "today could be the day" face

Rince Donn (5) manages to get a lead for the first lap, but as he was passing through what is in the background of this picture the oppo ceased to run or jump rapidly enough to maintain that.

Chloe and Myshkin prepare for action at Folkestone. Myshkin has just decided that his plan is to either win or dump Chloe in the mud at the last, but at least he is being flexible

Myshkin worked out that he needs to be in front of Diktalina (7) to win it, but miscounted the laps and did it with a circuit to go. As long as he learned his lesson...
