Mar08: It seems like he last ran just as the Berlin Wall was coming down (something was distracting him!) but he is just about to embark on the comeback trail. J'Adore will have a month of roadwork, and then a tendon scan to see if we can push him harder.

Sep06: To clarify the biting incident, J'Adore was showing signs of being an impatient patient. Visitors are requested to bring their own plasters and approach with caution. He is due an operation next month, and not too long after that he should be able to get a bit of fresh air and a change of scenery.

Jul06: Ran erratically and caused the saddle to slip in his first handicap, but looked set for a huge run when blinkered next time, only to suffer a tendon strain when in the lead turning for home. This unfortunately means 12 to 18 months off, with only other trainers who have been using the gallops at the same time as us likely to be happy about this. {Went to console J'Adore the next day, and he bit me, so the patient remains in good spirits - Ed.}

May06: Showed more zip and encouragement on faster ground, but also headbutted a hole in the saddling box roof at Fontwell before the race. So we are happy with his talent, but not so sure about his common sense. What must he have been like before he was gelded?

J'Adore basks in the adulation of an adoring public (in his own mind at least) before his hurdle debut at Plumpton. Quite why the lady in the red coat just below his head should be quite so horror stricken remains unknown. {It was subsequently suggested that she was astonished at the ruffians allowed in the parade ring these days - camera wielding Ed.}

Apr06: Failed to handle puddingy ground on his first run for us, but should improve as he encounters good or faster, and David Crosse was happy with his jumping after J'Adore had walked through the first hurdle. At least it learnt from it!

Mar06: Just arrived from Germany, J'Adore has been schooled over hurdles already and took to them like a duck to water. He ran over trips from 7 to 10 furlongs on the flat, and has been placed 2nd, 3rd and 4th in doing so. Most encouragingly, although a first foal, his maternal grand-dam output four winners, and none of them did so before they were four years old. Chato has been a success both on course and at stud, with 45% of his foals ending up as winners.

Cost for a 1/12 share is £995, plus £32.50 per week to cover ALL racing, training, vets fees etc.

Race two for us at Fontwell, and having knocked a hole in the saddling box roof, J'Adore rehearses for working on the walls next time.
