Happy Fleet finds a good way to warm down after a spin on the gallops is trout tickling. Others are easily drawn into the chess game between mammal and fish.

Having challenged Dawn to a race to lunch at Towcester, Happy Fleet wins but becomes confused by the claims of spiritual significance to be found in a grilled sausage. Either that or she is contemptuous of the fashion heretic wearing a green jacket. How dare people be individuals!
Feb10: Stepped up to 2 miles in handicaps, Happy Fleet came close to breaking her duck at Kempton, going down by half a length in a big field. On that showing, she is definitely capable of achieving what we hoped for - a flat win to tide her over until the faster jumps ground.
Jan10: Was cunningly placed to run in what turned out, for no special reason, to be unusually strong mile and a half maidens for older horses, but if she runs up to her effort in the second, Happy Fleet should find a race to win on the artificial surfaces sooner rather than later.
Dec09: She is not comfortable with the ground over jumps of late, which means she is destined for a summer campaign, but her home work is encouraging thoughts of a try out in the all-weather flat scene.
Aug09: Has shown glimpses of the ability that we believe she has stored inside, most noticeably when running a blinder for all but the last two furlongs at Market Rasen, but she has been one of those affected by EHV, and has been off whilst being treated.
Jan09: Alexander Beetle recently became her fifth half-sibling to win, impressing on his bumper debut. Hopefully, she will be able to make it the round half-dozen for Fleeting Affair's offspring when the ground dries out.
Dec08: Made her UK debut in unsuitably icky ground at Towcester, but ran well until she made a right mess of the fourth last and third last. With a vain slog up the hill facing her, she was pulled up, but there was not much wrong with the effort prior to that.
Sep08: We first encountered Happy Fleet when we went over to see Maderson Blue at Gerry Burke's. He was adamant that she was better than any of the other horses that we have picked up from him - all of which have been winners - and she has already had some runs for experience. Unfortunately hampered and unseating her rider on her debut, Happy Fleet then ran well in a couple of bumpers, including a £10,000+ one, before being given some more time to mature.
Her breeding is from the very top of the jumping tree. Fleeting Affair is a half-sister to Cheltenham Festival winner Flown, and herself won 3 times, and was placed in a Grade 3 race. Her offspring have won over 50 races between them - details below:
