Dec09: Incurred the wrath of the handicapper by overachieving in a conditions race, and was put up ten pounds. The next two races were lost by about a length, thus proving that whilst some rise was inevitable, the amount chosen did not tally with the form. Then, just before Christmas, he showed what a nice horse he is with a cosy win in a time 0.2 seconds off of the course record at Kempton.* He got his ideal race, a strongly run six furlongs, and Hayley Turner on board, who seems to handle him especially well.

* There is an alternative course record on the Racing Post site, which he equalled. It is not clear if it is permitted to pick and choose which one you are aiming at.

Nov09: Had a horrendous eleven hour journey to Ayr, to find the rains had ruined the going for him, followed by a nearly as bad nine hour stint back. It did mean that a comparatively sane spin out to Lingfield, even on the M25, put Capone in a cheery mood to run an encouraging first try on it's all-weather track.

Oct09: Made his debut for us in a listed race at Chantilly on very soft, which was probably too much of a jump in class on ground too testing - even a hippo would have been a non-runner. He certainly gives the impression of being a decent horse.

Sep09: A new addition to the team, he has won three times previously, all over six furlongs on good ground - at Thirsk, Doncaster and Yarmouth.
