A bit wary of an opponent that played up leaving the paddock (August 2011)

Brave Enough at Fontwell (Feb11) - apparently poised for a cracking action shot, but somehow number 11 manages, in the blink of an eye, to switch from his far side to this side and ruin the photo. It usually IS the photographer's fault, but this time...

Brave Enough uses his bright white foot to secure the best turned out prize, but once that is done, he is happy to do the crazy mohican thing with his mane
Nov11: Returned to action on the flat, being Ned's first ride as an apprentice. The mile was a bit short, but he enjoyed it and tried hard, so it counts as a pleasing come back.
Aug11: Began to show us the Brave Enough that generally trundles keenly along the gallops when third at Fontwell. He struck into himself quite heavily when stumbling rounding the final turn. That damage that he did to himself may well have cost him second, as he only lost that place in the last knockings. But with great joy, and no little relief, we did at least see him progressing on earlier runs.
May11: Disliked blinkers and disappointed, and then repeated the dose when they were removed, backing off his hurdles and ruining any chance to compete. He also showed mental weakness on the flat, when asked to swoop from behind, so he can expect to be making the running next time.
Jan11: Had another hurdle spin at Plumpton, but the ground was wrong for him. He is quite laid back, and you do wonder how much of what he experiences is actually stored away for future benefit. When it sticks, he will cut it over hurdles, but we would also consider giving him more runs on the flat, over longer trips than he was tackling before.
Nov10: Made his hurdle debut at Fontwell, but found the going too soft. He will have learned from the intro and do better with a bit more hurdling cunning under his belt. On breeding, he will need much quicker ground.
Jul10: A new arrival from Michael Magnusson's yard, picked up at Ascot Sales. Emil Imelov, who used to work for us, had recommended him as a potential dual purpose horse, and Hadden has already schooled him over hurdles - which Brave Enough seemed to relish (hands up who was expecting a 'lived up to his name' sort of angle). He could well be ready for a run in August.

Brave Enough before his hurdling intro at Fontwell, studiously ignoring any advice forthcoming from Dawn or Dave Crosse.
